Prescott . . .Arizona’s Territorial Capital
is where it all started in Arizona. This wonder filled mountain
town with its
wonderful year around weather did not just spring up haphazardly
around missions, mines or railroad stops as did most Western towns.
It was a planed community designated by President Lincoln in 1864
as the first territorial capital. Mostly settled by Northerners,
their influence can be seen in the many stone, wooden Gothic and
Victorian structures.
A mile high and only 90 miles from the very modern influences of
Phoenix you can still experience how the West was once and still
is to a large degree. Touch Arizona History. Take in our lakes and
forests, mountains and museums, the art, dramas and most of all
our people. Come fall in love with a lovely place that you will
love, and will love you back . . . Prescott. |
